Application overview
How Koyo bearings serve Conveyor Systems
Belt conveyors in steel plants, quarries and bulk-handling sites use bearings in their head, tail and take-up pulleys and in their drive gearboxes. Bearings here deal with dust, moisture, shaft deflection and long running hours, and an unplanned stop can halt a whole production line. Maintenance teams want the correct bearing, sleeve and housing combination in one shipment.
- Choose spherical roller or self-aligning ball bearings on long pulley shafts so they can absorb misalignment and shaft deflection.
- List the bearing, adapter sleeve and housing together so no mounting part is missing at shutdown.
- On dusty or wet conveyor lines, specify sealed inserts or housings with suitable seals.
- Specify the locating and non-locating housing positions on each pulley so thermal expansion is not restricted.
